Meet Veronika
My journey into herbal medicine wasn't a straightforward one.
Before becoming a medical herbalist, I worked in interior design and ran my own successful online business. Life was busy, juggling long working hours, late nights and raising my children. Like many people, I was so focused on keeping everything going that my own health gradually took a back seat.
Eventually, the demands of that lifestyle began to take their toll, and I found myself dealing with several health concerns. Despite seeking help, I wasn't finding the answers I was looking for, so I decided to visit a medical herbalist.
What struck me most was how different the experience felt. For the first time, I felt truly listened to. I could talk about all my health concerns in one place, rather than addressing each problem separately. My herbalist took the time to understand my medical history and explore how different aspects of my health might be connected.
That experience opened my eyes to a different way of looking at health. I became fascinated by medicinal plants, their traditional uses and the science behind them. What began as a personal interest eventually grew into something much more, and I made the decision to retrain as a medical herbalist.
I went on to spend five years studying herbal medicine and naturopathy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London, developing a deeper understanding of the human body, medicinal plants and their role in supporting health.
Having been on the other side of the consultation, I understand how frustrating it can be when you're struggling with your health and searching for answers. That experience has shaped the way I practise today.
What I love most about being a medical herbalist is the opportunity to help people. I enjoy getting to know my clients, listening to their stories and understanding what they're going through, both physically and emotionally.
For me, herbal medicine is about more than prescribing herbs. It's about taking the time to understand each person, looking at the bigger picture and offering thoughtful, individualised care that supports their overall wellbeing.
